Amélie’s French Bakery Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Amelie's is my favorite place for breakfast in Rock Hill. I went for my 3rd visit this past Sunday and got the quiche, salted caramel latte and a strawberry cream cheese croissant. Very delicious, as usual. All of the food and drinks have always been great as is the Parisian feel. Definitely a great spot to grab a bite it RH - we need more restaurants like this.

so excited to find another Amelies in Rock Hill. The one in Noda is just amazing. Now I did not think my cake was as good as normal but I think that is because it was colder and maybe in Noda the turnover is quicker so the pastry door keeps open and closing so its not as cold. The staff is super friendly and such a cute setting. I will return again when we are in the neighborhood. Glad to see and hear they are spreading to other areas

The fella and I stopped in for a sweet treat after dinner last Saturday night; it's just a few steps from Five and Dine. I hate to compare it to NoDa Amelie's, but... I will. As others have said, it's in a quaint location in downtown Rock Hill, which seems to be undergoing a bit of a revitalization. We walked in around 8 p.m., and the place was hopping. There isn't much seating downstairs, but I saw that there was an upstairs, and it sounds like there's more seating up there based on other reviews. The downstairs seating is pretty tight, and although the decor is fun and funky like NoDa, it still felt like a "coffee shop" to me whereas the NoDa location feels more like a place to hang out. We got a water, hot chocolate, chocolate eclair, and cream puff. The hot chocolate took forevvvvver to make, and I was starting to get antsy. I chalked it up to new staff, but eh. The pastries were solid, but nothing to write home about. I'll definitely try them again, and I'll hope that they start to up their game after they get into a groove. The world could use more Amelie's.

Pastry's are amazing & chicken salad is excellent. Has a very artsy fun atmosphere with some outdoor seating in a little small old town.

Great french bakery in a former bank branch - the vault is still there - great decoration, delicious salad and pastries

  • Josam R.

Better than NoDa!!! Best pistachio macarons I've been able to find - service is always good .... Do the salted caramel brownie, but avoid the gluten free version - it's kind of like crunchy air.... Coffee is always fresh and HOT - lots of Charlotteans make their way down since the bakers are slightly different. IMO Rock Hill wins!

Excellent customer service. Pretty much the only place in Rock Hill that you will find tasty pastries! Never a long wait like the one in Noda.

Cute place in Old Town Rock Hill. Whimsical decor, great light jazz playing in the background, absolutely fabulous coffee (we had the espresso roast in the French press), and the croissant breakfast sandwich choices were delish! Great place, we will definitely choose this place as one of our new local hangouts. We still need to find a dog friendly place so Char can have our little Ava by our side.

I loved the ambience! This place is too cute! The food was ok, but the French press coffee was outstanding! I got some macarons to go. I would go back the next time I'm in the area.

Speechless at the esthetics and Parisian feel this place gives to its visitors. We wanted to find a good coffee place, with great wifi but this place just exceeded my expectations. Tried the French macaroons and regular latte in a mug. The serving was so generous I didn't get to finish my hot drink. The wifi was great and helped us get ahead with remote work. I wish I had a place like this in Maryland.

Love there creme brûlée, they put extra sugar on mine which he had never had anyone ask for. It was amazing!!

Loved it! Great spot in a charming location. A nice variety of tasty pastries and delicious coffee in a very nice old bank building. The eclectic decor is not my thing but the chocolate eclairs and cafe mocha are so I was a happy camper. A nice spot for tea or coffee and a snack or dessert!

Just happened to be walking by and strolled in. Seriously best desserts ever. They made coffee that wasn't on the menu for us. The best. Will for sure be going back!

The Amelie's empire seems to be rapidly expanding! The Rock Hill location occupies a great old bank building in the Old Town section. There's a great sense of history to the building that carries throughout the interior, but gets mixed with some bits of modern artistic flair and whimsy. The restaurant cooler is housed in the old bank vault and makes for a cool display. A small second floor dining balcony overlooks the main dining room. Of course it wouldn't be Amelie's without cases full of delicious pastries. As a purist, I appreciate a really good croissant or Pain au Chocolat. My kids think the French Macaroons are so pretty, but always end up stealing my croissants!! The coffee is good and strong - I always get a French Roast Café au Lait. A new location recently opened in Charlotte and I think one opened up in Atlanta too! The "love locks" on the fence out front give this place a real Parisian feel and make for a great photo op!!

I love Amelie's in NODA, but not a fan of the line so I was happy to try the one closer to home. I love the atmosphere and the desserts are pretty good too. The staff is pleasant enough I suppose, but it's a bit pricey for the quality. I do feel like you pay a little extra for the atmosphere and I'm pretty much ok with that. I think I like Nova's bakery a bit better, but I love having options!

    (4)
  • Tony T.

The atmosphere is visually appealing, very creative actually, but it's overpriced just like the Charlotte locations. Add to that the service at this one isn't as good and you've got a mediocre coffee shop at best. I'll be getting better food, lower prices, and consistent service with more comfortable chairs at a bread-bread chain somewhere nearby.

  • Melissa G.

Love this place. The selections and quality of pastries is amazing. The service was friendly and very attentive. Prices were on par with other bakeries I have visited throughout the U.S. A great find and addition to the Rock Hill area. I will definitely be back.

Stopped by to taste a sample of what they had to offer. Got the pistachio macaron, cinnamon bun macaron, vanilla filled choc eclair, and almond croissant. The macarons were lightly flavored, eclairs were huge. The highlight and best saved for last was the almond croissant. It's pricy at $3.25, but it's so worth it. The ends were crusty, with the interior pastry had almond paste baked in. Yummmmm. I wish I lived closer to get this every day.

Had the build your own breakfast sandwich. Baguette, egg , sausage, gruyere and a plain coffee. Great stuff. That baguette was one of the best I have had in a long long time. Crispy, not chewy, crust and soft interior complimented the other ingredients for a great start to the day. Nice atmosphere too made it feel like someplace you want to sit and relax with that cup of coffees. Have to add - the staff was really great, smiling, helpful and acted like they were glad to be there and glad you were too.

  • Amy T.

A coworker told me about Amelie's in Noda and raved about how great it was so I had high hopes when I found there was one in Rock Hill. I went in and saw their dessert case and was in awe as I picked out some tasty treats to take home to get an variety of tastings. Overall, while the treats were good, they were rather bland and overpriced. I could get better quality/tasting desserts at a much better price from Publix. Sorry Amelie's, I hoped this would become a local favorite, I won't be returning.

Nestled in the quaint and charming, Old Town, Rock Hill, Amelie's continues to add to its already established locations. What's not to love about Amelie's? The pastries are second to none. The coffee is great...and I'm not sure you could ask for more in the ambiance department. Continual additions such as Amelie's, not only bring culture to Rock Hill, but make it relevant. I'm excited to have them in the community and intend to visit frequently. Try: The Sea Salt Caramel Brownies

  • Cassidy F.

This place was great! Had their Spinach & Asiago Tartine and their Tomato Basil Pesto & Mozzarella Tartine, both were really good! Also tried their Salted Caramel Brownie and their French Macarons. Their coffee is some of the best coffee I've ever had!Everything was delicious, just a tad pricey. Loved the decor and the overall eclectic feel of the place.

Finally got to check out this location and glad I stopped in. I agree with several reviewers that location is brighter, cleaner and quicker than the NoDa location. On my first visit, the two young clerks were smiling and very pleasant and didn't rush me to make a selection. On a subsequent visit, I experienced the cashier hurry up mode. The bad thing --ZEEERO line, so really didn't see the need for urgency?? Oh well, coffee and treats were delicious on both occasions. Will be back.

We have been here a couple of times for lunch, and the food is good. I really do not like lining up and ordering at the counter, and feel pressured into "just ordering something" especially when others are in line. If you can get in here when there are not many people around, it will be better. Also, there is very little seating, and so you have that to deal with too. But the food is good, and it worth the counter service, and crowded hard to find a place to sit atmosphere.

Wow what an awesome little French place in of all places and old bank in rock hill SC . The wild flower and honey homemade French soda was terrific Great sandwiches, coffee, teas and of course pastries !!! So glad we found this place!

Not the greatest experience. Initially we were planning on visiting the infamous NoDa location but opted to stop in at this location on the way back to Columbia. We got there a little after 12:30 and fortunately there wasn't much of an issue with parking downtown. There were maybe 3 or 4 customers ahead of us in line - but they all ordered lunch items (sandwiches, teas). The dessert case looked very appealing, there was a nice selection of treats (from stalking yelp pics of the NoDa location I recognized many items). Finally it was our turn to order (I didn't like the ordering setup much because the register is off to the left of the dessert case and many of the items aren't labeled - there wasn't anyone standing behind the desserts to take your order either, so I kinda felt like I had to hop back and forth trying to point out what I wanted, while the woman rang me up, which really didn't make sense), she finally came over and looked over me, and said "one moment, I'm going to get her her tea first" (the other customer was already waiting at the other counter and I was already in the process of ordering)... so I waited again, then she came back to take my order AGAIN and spotted another worker walking by, she asked if SHE could take our order, the other woman said, "I mean yeah, but I'm running food orders too," all the while we're standing there like ooookkkay is it that big of a deal to order some pastries to-go?!?!?! Anyway, the original unfocused lady finally took our order and it was all smooth from there... Honey Macaron - mild, tasty Napoleon - boring Strawberry Petits - delicious Petit Gateux - good Lemon Napoleon - better than the original Napoleon Lemon Meringue Tart - very rich, but good The desserts all tasted fresh and homemade which is what we were wanting Service - not so great. Maybe I'll try the NoDa location at 3am one day when I'm drunk and customer service doesn't matter.

We love having Amelie's in Rock Hill. The food is great and it has a nice atmosphere. It needs to improve customer service, however. Long waits in line just to buy a baguette or pastry is inconvenient. Also, the help sometimes are less than helpful, and seem to have bad attitudes. At least twice they have gotten my order wrong. A little tweaking of customer service would help make Amelie's a first-class business addition to downtown Rock Hill.

  • Danitra W.

I have come here twice for the macaroons. Both times the service was just ok? I don't think I will ever sit in to enjoy the abeyance due to the lacking in service. When checking out the lady threw my receipt and pen at me pushing me over so she can help the other people who were behind me. I was ignored for 5 min before even being helped or recognized. I hate to bring race into it but I feel they are a little racist. Its funny no one recognized to help me until a white couple started to stand beside me waiting as well. Then boom a younger gentleman came and asked how he could help and looked right at them first and I had been standing there! I am generous and I usually do not write reviews but I thought I would bc I felt ignored and both times I went in there I felt the same. They have good food but bad service and again may be racist to those of other races and or ethnic backgrounds.

Took our nieces here for hot chocolate after I've skating downtown the other night. They steamed the milk for the girls (5 and 9) to a lower temp so it wouldn't be too hot for them. Really nice touch. They seemed to hey a generous amount of whipped cream too which was welcomed. Ambiance was a really fun experienced for them as girly girls. Upstairs seating was nice with comfy chairs and a couch. Growing fonder of the place with each visit. Prices make it occasional and Dunkin' still my go to for coffee, but is fun for every now and then.

So glad to have this in Rock Hill. Love the apricot turnovers and the other fruit filled niceties. Very cool location that will help revitalize downtown Rock Hill.

Stopped in for a "Friends and Family" event on a Saturday afternoon. The place was jumping, but the staff was fast, friendly and efficient. Had the white bean and ham soup which was delicious! Ordered several pastries to go and had a great evening treat. I found the quality of the goodies to be superior to the NoDa location, which I have visited on several occasions. The decor is similar to NoDA, but the upstairs is a nice touch. I really dug the fact that the kept the Citizen Bank signage and the bank vault is now a walk in freezer, How cool is that? Rock Hillians (is that what you call residents of Rock Hill?), if you haven't checked this place out, you don't know what you are missing! Maybe a few extra pounds, but what's that among friends?!

  • Michael T.

Food is very good, including the daily soups. Love the atmosphere and decor, very chill and relaxing with seating ranging from couches to chairs at the window. Will be back for sure! So much to try still....

Love this Amelie's! I used to love the NODA location but it just became too dirty. I am sure their kitchen is clean but it was the tables at the NODA location that grossed me out. This Amelie's is lovely! Clean, same cool gay-paris atmosphere. Nice staff, excellent food.

Pros: I love the atmosphere of Amelie's. With its eclectic furnishings and Parisian flair, I can pretend I'm in Europe while I sit with my computer and job hunt. Glad to have a cute place like this in Rock Hill, which is sorely lacking in the coffee department. Cons: Food and drink aren't that great for the price. Have tried macarons, caramel latte, cafe au lait, and French press. For four bucks, that latte better be damn good. Instead, it's just all right.

  • Chris B.

Great to have Amelie's in Rock Hill as a fan of the one in NoDa for many years. The staff are friendly and it being open all night on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights is super convenient. The upstairs area is really cool and depending on when you visit no one else will be up there or might be packed.

  • Luke F.

The sweets are delicious. The staff asks questions to help you narrow down to your liking. Good coffee, too. Friendly vibe. The atmosphere is relaxing and exactly what is missing from big chain coffee houses.

Best thing to come to Rock Hill in a long time. Fresh, made to order French style food and drinks. Dont get me started on their pastries. Yum!! Their hours are great as well.

  • Brooke B.

So good it will shut me up for a few minutes. Take my money (great prices!) Get in my mouth (delicious!) The one in NoDa is open all the time. I miss their live streaming webcam online but I think one can find it with google chrome. They do have a day in the life of their baker on fast track which is amazing to watch. They are growing for a reason. Thanks for satisfying all of my cravings, salt and sweet at the same time. A cure for PMS, gents! Take your ladies here, or better yet, bring some home. They are also catering a wedding for a pretty good price!

  • Octavio P.

They're pretty much open throughout the weekends, have fantastic desserts & coffee, flavorful sandwiches and a unique interior. I'd highlight the eclairs, the cafe au lait and the jambon sandwich. A real taste of Paris in SC - this is our new favorite spot in Rock Hill! PS - I'm looking forward to trying their Croque Monsieur! ;)

  • Jeffrey P.

When you roam, sometimes you discover. I used to drive to Charlotte for this treat, now it's right here in my backyard. Amelies has made it to Rock Vegas! Yum. Open 24 hrs from Thurs - Sunday, a cool after hours spot to chill. Just add the lounge music, and it will be even more hip and chic.

I have heard so many great things about Amelie's and was super excited for them to come to Rock Hill. I hate to say, I'm disappointed. We came in and were ignored by staff behind the counter until we eventually said hello, only for them to say "hey" and turn back into useless statues. So we decided what we wanted and I tried to get someone's attention again. We ordered and the girl behind the counter made fun of my order. I got the Palmier, which is my favorite type of pastry and costs around 80 cents, and apparently is "super cheap" of me and I should get something else. So I looked at their drink menu (which was confusing beyond all belief) and ordered their version of an iced mocha. The palmier was fine, about as good as you can get at a supermarket, but the mocha was terrible, I even thought, perhaps having eaten the sweet palmier, that my taste buds were off and had a friend taste it, he agreed that it was horrible. The chocolate was all but undetectable the espresso had an ashy taste to it and it was half water. I may go back to give them another try, but it was not a good experience.

We really enjoy the Amélie's in NoDa, so we decided to try the Rock Hill location, which just opened. Contrary to the Yelp information, this location is open 24 hours from Thursday-Sunday. My only misgiving about it is that it isn't 24 hours all the time, which is a drag, but aside from that this location is very representative of the Amélie's brand and the culture it looks to represent. The upstairs area is a nice touch too, given that downstairs seating is limited. The salted caramel brownie is the must-get delicacy for any newcomer. The house blend coffee is quite good as well.

Perhaps the coolest spot in Rock Hill...... Yes it is. It is also the sweetest. Great for old people, young people, hungry people. Full of hipsters, hillbillies and rednecks. My kinda place!

    (5)
  • Adriana M.

The decor is so cool, and yes it was a bit pricey....but the chocolate mousse "cupcake" (I have no idea what they call it) was soooo rich, I could only eat half of it and took the other half home. Their chai latte is perfect.

Wonderful bakery and coffee house in downtown Rock Hill. The bakery is full of delicious dessert. Loved the fruit tarts, chocolate mousse cups and aims bread. They serve breakfast and lunch. Open 24 hrs on weekends. Friendly nice little cafe. The building used to be a bank and they did a great job decorating.

  • David O.

Great ambiance, food looks great, tastes however is ok but not wonderful. Eclairs are dry and chocolate is mediocre. Wait staff was either having a bad night or needs happiness pills. All in all won't race to go back.

Five stars for the macarons! But is there a way I can get them without actually having to go in to Amelie's? The staff leaves so much to be desired. I have been twice now and left disappointed both times. First, I guess in their defense, the setup is extremely awkward. The line to order goes directly in front of the bakery case. It is tricky to figure out what's going on when they are busy. At any rate, the staff seem unorganized and not terribly helpful or quick to respond. We went in today for a late afternoon treat . There were five staff members present in various locations behind the counter. A guy that was maybe the supervisor was clearly upset with them for something as they all looked like they would rather be any place but there. Although the supervisor saw me (and two others in need of assistance), he continued to grill them and did not acknowledge me or release them to acknowledge me. AWKWARD! Finally after several minutes a girl came to help us select our treats. The supervisor went on his way and never acknowledged any customers. As stated, the macarons are wonderful. Today we also shared a salted caramel brownie and I did not care for it. The brownie part had a strange texture. The salted caramel topping had no hint of salt and the caramel was absolutely flavorless. Clearly it was not cooked long enough to develop the appropriate flavor (it's a fine line with caramel between underdone-correct-burnt). I was sad I wasted my calories on that instead of a second macaron. Oh well. I don't know, as much as I want to love this place, I will only go back if I'm very close and it's empty.

I found this lovely, local coffeehouse on yelp. I'd never been to Rock Hill before and needed a coffeehouse with wi-fi to hang out in until my meeting started. The coffee was excellent and staff was so pleasant! I ordered a skim latte - they don't do skim, how awesome is that? This place made my day. I wish I had one in my hometown.

    (5)
  • Ashley B.

Love the atmosphere. It's the perfect place to grab coffee and a treat with a friend. As far as food goes, it's great, but I rarely feel like shelling out the money for what little they give you. But then again, I am pretty cheap.

    (4)
  • Kristi S.

This is a good addition to Rock Hill, but much of the food and pastry is over priced. Also, the counter staff are hipsters with attitudes. My breakfast sandwich was ok, but nothing special. I'd definitely pick Novas over this place any day.

  • Scott N.

This is a nice place, service is questionable. Asked them for a Splenda in my latte and was told they are now allowed to put sweetener in drinks and that I had to do it after they made it. It's not really convenient to try and put sweetener through the foam but he was very insistent they wouldn't do it. Even crappy Starbucks offers better service, I would have expected friendlier and better service from such a quaint place. Friends never got their drink orders at all without having to complain and it wasn't busy. Counter folks appeared bothered we were there. Very strange, seems like lots of potential, very disappointed though because of service.

I wanted to like this place when they opened a new location in Rock Hill. It had a nice ambiance and I heard nothing but rave reviews. We went by on a Saturday afternoon to get an after lunch snack. We placed our pastry order at the counter and received our items quickly, then proceeded to wait in line for about 20 minutes, plates in hand, while the one girl running register took her sweet time. There easily could have been two registers operating but several of the staff were too busy carrying on in the back to open up a second line. Several people in front of us turned around and left. We would have done the same if we weren't holding our items already. After paying, it took a while to find a seat, not because they were all taken, but because nobody had come around and cleaned tables after people left. Overall, I was not very impressed. The pastry was just okay, but the operations still need quite a bit of work. We may go back at some time in the future, if they can get their act together!

Really cute place and delicious food. So many things to choose from! We tried the chocolate eclair and a fruit tart. Both were wonderful. The issue was really with the service. We walked in and saw someone being served over at the pastry counter, and so we waited in line there. The lady behind the counter saw us, but didn't acknowledge us. She served the people ahead of us in line, then when it was our turn, she walked away. We stood and waited, thinking maybe she just had to do something in the back. Then a group of three older ladies came in, and the woman returned immediately to take their order, even though we had been waiting in line a good 10 minutes. She wouldn't look at or speak to us. Finally, a younger man came and took our order, then said he would see us at the checkout in a moment. The checkout is maybe 15 feet away from the pastry counter, but it took him another 5 minutes to get there, and when he did he just took our money and walked away. It was just odd. Both he and the lady serving customers at the pastry counter seemed distracted, and the place just wasn't welcoming. We may go back on a different day when others might be working, but just weren't satisfied with the service at this visit.

I love macaroons and it is hard to find them around town! I've been to the NODA store several times and found they opened up a second location in rock hill. The place is so nice and quant, great place to read a book or study since it's so close to the college.

Visiting for the weekend, hosts took us Sunday morning. Will be a regular when in town. Pastries are amazing. Breakfast sandwiches are just the perfect size especially on a croissant. Quirky atmosphere. Very visually stimulating. Definite must if in town.

I loved the chocolate eclair's. Had them on both visits. My opinion is that the coffee is way better than Starbucks. Hope this place stays open a long time.

So I think the secret here is location, location, location. In a "struggling to be hipster" area like Old Town, Rock Hill, this tiny chain bakery probably got a major tax break to set up shop. I could tell you how this bakery wouldn't last 2 weeks in a big city but let's not kid ourselves that that would make a difference in Rock Hill. So that said, there is definitely an appeal to the average person walking by their shop window. The Bakery itself, is really unlike anything else in Rock Hill, providing baked goods not found anywhere else outside South Charlotte, decent coffee, light bites and fru frued drinks that make the average customer feel, as many other reviews have noted, exotic and cosmopolitan. Of course, if you have actually been out of the Carolinas, you realize this bakery is nothing like those in Europe or even in a large city, but I suppose, while we are here we can all dream. The lines are long at busy times and the staff seems to be spread fairly thin. Some other reviews have noted that it's expensive, if you want the "Je ne sais quoi" of Amelie's atmosphere, then I would say the price is right. As for actual taste, I would say that highlight of the shop is the macarons - which are pretty meh... but when your only competition in town is Harris Teeter, where you can find them as "Dessert Sliders," they probably taste pretty good. I would say it's worth stopping if you have never been to a really good bakery, or if you are a student looking for an all night coffee hangout.

Great all around. Good drinks. Excellent sandwiches and pastries. Nice atmosphere. A pleasant change from cookie cutter coffee shops. Oh...and some peculiar (ultra-extended) weekend hours that I personally find quite endearing. What more is there to say? Ah, yes...AND they play good music. Did I mention the prices are good too? I could go on and on...evidently.

You walk in and instantly you feel relaxed. The atmosphere is great. It is the best place to go when you have had a long stressful day, or if you need a place to escape the world for awhile. It is also great if you need to pull an all night cram session on the weekend. They stay open all night and have enough caffeine and sweets to keep you up for days.

The sandwiches are fresh and excellent. The bread is homemade. The cafe au lait was perfect and the napoleon was the best I've had. They did a really nice job redoing the space. It's very unique.

This place is amazing. Every but as good as the one in NoDa and Uptown. Big fan of the jambon with cheese (essentially ham and cheese on French bread) and also the chicken salad sandwich. Deserts. Deserts. Deserts. Can't go wrong with a single selection. Don't forget to channel your inner euro hippy.

As a resident of the Rock, I'm happy to see some diverse eateries move into town. I've had a coffee or two, but stopped in late night last Friday after a show with D-Train and had one of their sandwiches. I ordered the Croque Monsieur straight off the menu but was told they don't offer it yet until they have a flattop grill. No problem, the roast beef and manchego was a good second choice. They put it on one of their croissants and it was nicely decadent and filling. At 2am, it was a really good sandwich! Would be great if they offered some sides with a $6.49 sandwich though; soup was pretty much all they had and for an additional charge. Even though they seem a little pricey (small flavored coffee is the same price as a venti from Starbucks), I really enjoyed the atmosphere and all their unique offerings. One of these visits I'm going to do more than just window-shop the pastries...!

Just tried this pastry shop for the first time! The pastries were good but it was hard to see them in the case with everyone I front of the cases. The staff never smiled or had any interaction with us beside to ask us for our order. It is very pretty inside but does echo so if you had a large group you may have problems hearing.
